This engraving is part of "Album Fenaille" or "Album Goupil", a book dedicated to Auguste Rodin's drawings, published in 1897. It contains a majority of drawings related to
Dante's Inferno, which are generally referred to as "black drawings".
A copy of this precious album is in the archives of the Rodin Museum.
