"Wedding of Eros and Psyche." Presiding over the ceremony, Jupiter is depicted with thunderbolts in his hand and the eagle, symbol of divine power. To his left, his wife and sister Juno, queen of the gods. Her presence is never absent at births and weddings, providing protection for the bride. On the left, Neptune appears, in the middle of the bride and groom, Hymenaeus, son of Venus, crowned with roses and holding the torch with the divine fire. The bride, Psyche, shows on her knee a diamond, which maintained the union between the spouses. . Hand-woven tapestry in wool and silk. 272 x 257 cm.
