"Verdure" Important and fine tapestry from Felletin, Aubusson region (Creuse, France) End of 17th and beginning of 18th century. Technical characteristics : Wool and silk. Some oxidations and slight natural wear. Restorations of maintenance. Dimensions : Height : 280cm ; Width : 300cm. At the edge of a flowery and luxuriant wood, in the shade of secular oaks where two birds are posed, on the bank of a river, two hoopoes face each other. In the background we can see a castle and its adjoining formal garden, enriched with a fountain. Frame with garlands of flowers and acanthus leaves with volutes.
