In-4, full blue jansenist morocco, quintuple gilt fillet on the back covers, covers and spine preserved, gilt head, lined case (Kieffer binding). Few pale freckles, slight rubbing on the upper cover - [3 ff.], 93 pp. and [1 f.], 15 watercolours by Georges Rochegrosse engraved by Louis Mortier in double state. Edition at 190 copies numbered in blue pencil and initialled by the publisher, 1/20 on Japon impérial (n° 23) containing an original signed watercolour used for the illustration of the book, a state of the 9th etching with autograph corrections by Rochegrosse and a triple decomposition of the colours of this same etching. The text is printed in grey-pink in a beautiful woodcut frame of Hindu inspiration. A very fine copy in a sober binding by Kieffer.
