A fine proof on chine appliqué mounted on a sheet of strong white vellum (without any lettering), before any alteration of the lithographic stone-before the black spot on the monkey's left knee at lower right, before the "white bird" in the leaves at the foot, and before the white thistle leaves under the slanting lance. Persistent oxidation and small freckles around the subject. Nice margins of the support.
