Italian baroque cassette Carved walnut, metal and textile later. Richly carved oblong box form on sculptural lion head feet. Hinged lid with relief depiction of a shepherd family in an oval leaf wreath. Curved protruding horizontal edges, surrounded by leaf friezes in relief, on all four corners almost fully sculptured female winged creatures. On the four sides winged angel heads with leaf and fruit garlands. Inside two hinged compartments and a lost secret drawer, later mounting device for the lid. H 23,5, W 47,5, D 37,5 cm. Italy, end of 16th/17th century.
