Coins from the period of the Roman Empire were by their very nature exceptionally rare in the 16th century and particularly sought after by collectors. The only comparable work from the south of the Netherlands is a tazza with Liège marks from around 1564, which is in the collection of the Musée Curtius in Liège (Inv. No. 62/452).
