Flemish 2nd half 15th century
Two statuettes of the Mother of God
Bronze, cast, old patinated. The two identically designed small statuettes are cast according to the same model, each is missing the apparently separately cast baby Jesus held on the arm. They are supplemented by a probably associated cast canopy and a younger four-piece plaque with a depiction of a winged lion as a symbol of the evangelist Mark.
Rubbings. Mounted separately on two velvet-covered wooden supports. H 12.2 cm each.
