Closed frame steel carcass.
Collective extractor, rotation of the barrel ensured by the vertical displacement of a bar, which comes in contact with the rocks.
Plates of stick out of squared blackened wooden.

Manufactured from 1878 to 1896, date on which it is replaced by the C-96.
The Mauser C-78 revolver nicknamed "Zig Zag" after the design of the cylinder grooves. It is the first handgun produced by the Mauser firm. It is a model known as "with crack", chambered in 7 mm in its civil version and 9 mm in its military version.
