Two illuminated manuscript leaves from a book of hours (Psalms of Penance)
In Latin, illuminated leaf on parchment, two leaves together (a double leaf laid flat, fold lined with a blue silk braid): commercial production in the Fouquettian style?

Endpapers in dark red and blue with gold highlights; initials traced in liquid gold on blue or dark red backgrounds; illuminated frames on reserved backgrounds with blue and gold acanthus leaves, foliage, flowers and strawberries, small fox with its hood in the lower margin of the left leaf. These borders are reminiscent of those found in Touraine manuscripts attributable, for example, to the Master of Boccaccio of Munich, successor or follower of Jean Fouquet in the 1470s (see Avril, F. Jean Fouquet. Peintre et enlumineur du XVe siècle, Paris, 2003 - in particular see the chapter: "Vers une production commerciale: les livres d'heures " style Fouquet ", pp. 354-381).
