Perseus Delivering Andromeda, ca. 1770-1780
Folded fan, the skin sheet painted with two cartouches in brown, framing Andromeda chained to the rocks. Her parents, King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia, pray for her release. Perseus riding Pegasus appears on the horizon to strike the sea monster that was to devour the young girl.
Reverse painted with three yellow flowers.
Bone mount pierced, engraved and silvered.
