Between heaven and earth, 18th-19th centuries
Folded fan, the leaf painted in love on a cloud. One hides behind a cloud to escape a man scanning the sky with his telescope. A second love throws a badminton shuttlecock that falls back to earth and that three children are waiting for.
Reverse side in skin painted with a figure in garlands of intertwined flowers.
The frame is made of carved ivory*, engraved with lovers sharpening their arrows, and Venus and Adonis. The reverse side is silvered. About 1750-1760
