The bather, circa 1750
Folded fan, the skin sheet, mounted in English style, and painted with four cartels, on a brown background enhanced with golden dots. A bouquet of narcissus and anemone on the left, the portrait of a little girl removing her mask, then a large scene of blue cameo. An abbot is lecturing a bather while his companion walks away. Finally, inverted, a view of a port with ships. The leaf is also enhanced with natural straw flowers and mother of pearl fragments.
Reverse painted in the Chinese taste of a group of scholars in a garden, and a landscape in a cartel treated in brown monochrome.
Ivory* frame finely cut with scrolls, blue and white porcelain vases, and painted with a goat and a sheep. In the center, two cartels carved in light relief of a gardener pushing his wheelbarrow and autumn fruits on a table.
