A LARGE PANEL OF QAJAR TILES. Siliceous paste painted in polychrome under a transparent colourless glaze. The 10 tiles that make up this panel form an arcature and are decorated with numerous figures in gardens on a cobalt background, framed by friezes of foliage on a green background. The various characters are represented in thrones or on their horses, surmounted by calligraphic cartouches. They are probably kings of ancient Persia, a popular subject in the Qadjara period (some fractures and missing pieces visible).
Iran, 19th century, Qadjara period.
