Madrid, 1920], Empress of the French, wife of Napoleon III.
Autograph letter signed, addressed to Lucien Daudet. Farnborough, May 22, 1916; 4 pages
in-8°. "I am sorry to see by your letters that you let yourself go to discouragement without reason
and without reason, if you do not make a serious effort to dominate your nerves. I am afraid you are really making yourself ill.
I fear you are really making yourself ill. Why do you always see imaginary troubles. Believe in friendship,
believe in goodness, and do not make trouble where there is none. In a long life I have drawn
the experience that gives me the right to speak to you in this way. After all, the good outweighs the bad. The point is
is not to give importance to things and people who really have none. I don't want to
to scold you anymore. I only want to make you see life from another angle than you see it.
