Both works first (& only) edition of an attractive children’s picture-book lithographed by the Dutch artist Theo van Hoytema (1863-1917) based on a fairy-tale by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875). Ex bibliotheca Christiaan Kleiss (1924-2015). – Both works with small defects (spine rebacked, both covers partly waterstained/ worn, occ. sl. finger-soiled in outer blank margins), but nevertheless in an acceptable interior condition. ¶ Ad 2: Lacks one lithograph (no. XXXI).
