ITALY, Milan. Giovanni Galeazzo Maria Sforza (1481). Double ducat of gold. 1481 (n.d.). 6.94 g His cuirassed bust right, wearing a beret. R/ Shield of arms of the Sforza family, surmounted by two chimeras. Crippa 1. Fr. 693. Very rare. Traces of trial. Almost Superb. Provenance: Parisian trade. It is following Francis I Sforza that, breaking with the traditions of the Middle Ages, Galeazzo Maria Sforza made engrave his effigy on species.
