This plate is sometimes known under the title L'Essayage du corset. The figure seated on the left in the dressing room of the actress Anna Judic (1849-1911) is the composer Désiré Dihau (1833-1909), bassoon at the Opéra and cousin of Lautrec, who was often portrayed by him and by Degas.
