Very fine proof on thin cream vellum, one of 10 printed in lightly bistreled black (besides 15 in olive green), dedicated in red chalk "to Bernard" and signed. Large margins. Very rare: total edition of 25 proofs (of which 12 are in public collections according to Wittrock). Distributed by Éd. Kleinmann.

Slightly reduced margins (Wittrock gives as dimensions: 380 x 560 mm). Very slight trace of oxidation and a few rare and tiny light freckles at the edges of the folio. Short tear (10 mm) at left edge. Slight thinning visible by transparency and a small trace of glue at the head on the back.
Marthe Brandès (1862-1930) was an actress who embodied the great lovers and femmes fatales. She became a member of the Comédie-Française in 1896.
