Very fine and fresh proof on cream vellum, numbered in pencil (18) and stamped with the red monogram. All margins. Edition of 100 proofs (more than half of them stamped). On the reverse, lower right, discharge of the red stamp from another print. Several thin mounting tabs superimposed on the left edge and a slight freckle in the upper left corner, invisible on the front.
André Antoine (1858-1943) was an actor, director, playwright and theatre critic who founded the Théâtre-Libre in 1887, a theatrical movement advocating realistic staging and French and foreign naturalist authors (including Ibsen). He moved to the Théâtre Antoine in 1894. L'Inquiétude is a play by Jules Perrin and Claude Couturier that was given by the Théâtre-Libre in 1893. (See n° 20).
