Hanging scroll. Two characters "kosho" (hill pine). Ink on paper. Three seals, the second tokugan. Wooden box, inscribed on the lid: Hokyoji miya goshinpitsu.
The eleventh wife of Emperor Gosai entered the nunnery of Hokyoji in Kyoto in 1689. Her Buddhist name was Tokugan Riho. (Japanese handwritten biographical information about Riho enclosed)
