A graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, Taher Chemirik has been working since 1990 with the most prestigious fashion houses such as Chloé, Balenciaga, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Roger Vivier. In 2007, Time Magazine listed him among the most influential designers in the world for his jewelry line. This pair of cuffs is an early creation of the jewelry artist. As he sums it up himself, "It's form and volume that interest him in jewellery. His jewelry is functional sculpture, it can be worn but is also beautiful as decorative objects."
Three of Taher Chemirik's jewels are in the permanent collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
