Height 25.5 cm. The elegant and cosy modelling is reasonably ascribable to the rich and fortunate production of small terracotta sculptures and sketches by the Bolognese sculptor Giuseppe Maria Mazza, one of the greatest experts on the full Bolognese Baroque. The work proposed here, modelled according to the canons of a simplified and elegant simplicity, belongs to Mazza's production, which can be dated to the first decades of the 18th century and finds analogies with works such as the small terracotta statuettes depicting abundance and an allegorical figure and the circular relief of the Madonna and Child preserved in the Davia Bargellini Museum in Bologna.
