67x50x37 cm The important depiction, representing the anchorite founder of monasticism and forerunner of abbots, is a precious and significant testimony of the production between Lombardy and Veneto in the second half of the fifteenth century and in particular of the work of the Cremonese family of De Fondulis started with the father Fondelino in the early 1400s and continued by his son Giovanni and grandson Agostino. The work has been the subject of critical studies and publications by Giancarlo Gentilini and Lorenzo Principi (2015) and by Marco Scansani (2019-2020)
