32x40 cm This rare portrait portraying Filippo Maria Visconti II, Duke of Milan, in the manner of classical Roman statuary, without a headdress and bare-chested, joins the more famous portraits by Pisanello and Giovanni Antonio Amadeo (see Fondazione Zeri Archive) and can be attributed to the celebratory Renaissance portraiture of the fifteenth century.
