Spectacular manuscript map of the port of Lorient made and signed by Sr de St Pierre, Inspector of the King's Buildings. Full title: Map of the port of L'Oriant and its surroundings on which are marked all the different projects that have been made to conduct drinking water in the Park of the Royal Company of India. Surveyed geometrically and Signed, By the Sr de St Pierre Inspector of the Buildings of the King. This magnificent plan shows 3 projects of water purification in order to bring drinking water in the park of the Compagnie des Indes. Title on the top left in a cartouche decorated with griffins, on the bottom left a table of reference to the 3 projects with references in Roman numerals (yellow), Arabic (red) and in letters (blue). At the bottom right, in cardboard: "A loriant le 10e Decembre M.DCCXXXII." and signed "De St Pierre". Scale of the map of 400 toises. Decorated with a wind rose. Several handwritten plans of Lorient by the Sr de St Pierre are preserved at the BNF.
