BOUGUEREAU, M. Description du pays Armorique, a pres. Bretaigne. Tours, 1594. Black and white. Small paper loss in the lower right corner in the margin, 2 small brown spots. Beautiful impression. 36 x 47 mm.
Map published in the first atlas of France, the "Théâtre françoys" by Maurice Bouguereau. Decorated with coats of arms and 3 compass roses. This map is a new engraving based on the map published in Bertrand d'Argentré's "Histoire de Bretagne". According to F. de Daimville, this map was engraved in the first half of 1591. The signature is to the east of Nantes, text in French on the reverse.
