Set of armour and weapons Steel damascened with gold in the koftgari technique Indo-Persian world, 19th century Provenance: reputed to come from the Château de Toqueville Bazu band: Height: 35; Width: 10 cm Axe: Height: 62; Width: 24 cm Helmet: Height: 24; diameter: 20 cm Chainmail: Height 58; Width: 171 cm (span) Rondache: Height: 7; Diameter: 37 cm Composed of a helmet, bazu band, rondache, chainmail and axe, the set is decorated with gold damascene in the koftgari technique, arabesques and friezes of calligraphy. The helmet is decorated with a nasal at the ends forming festoons, a point with four sides at the top, and two eaglet holders. The rondache decorated with four bosses in the form of flowers, a crescent moon, and provided with four rings of attachments on the back. The axe with engraved decoration on the blade in the form of a crescent, the handle is mounted in steel with gold damascene at the ends and decorated with green velvet.
