[PHOTOGRAPHS]. Charente Maritime. Paul ROBERT. "Charente Inférieure" About 1880-1894. 31 photographs on albumen paper 38.5 x 27.5 cm approximately, dry stamps "Paul Robert", mounted on strong cardboard, caption and number in "new catalogue" in pencil, all in folder, handwritten index and mention "complete". Photographs of Saintes, Retand, Aulnay, Echillais, Pont-Labbé, Esnandes, Surgères. A lover of letters, Paul Robert (1865-1898) married in 1890 Laure, the daughter of Médéric Mieusement, a photographer working for the administration of historical monuments. He then obtained, by dowry, the concession of photography of the historical monuments and the management of the Mieusement collection. In 1892, he joined the Chambre syndicale de la photographie. In 1894, he obtains the exploitation of all the pictures of the commission of the historical monuments, which allows to unify all the pictures under the quotation "MH". He became secretary of the Chambre syndicale de photographie in 1897. The production of Paul Robert is not as important as that of his father-in-law: he dies prematurely and his concession returns to the house Neurdein brothers. (Wikipedia).
