Bélanger (sculptor, 1744-1818), representing the great arms of France and Navarre under royal crown and surrounded by the collars of the orders of Saint-Michel and the Holy Spirit, inscribed on the circumference "LOUIS XVIII ROI DE FRANCE ET DE NAVARRE". Good condition.
In a round molded blackened wood frame (crack).
On the reverse side the handwritten inscription: "Offered by / L'ami Bélanger / Le 28 octobre 1814 À / Mr Lefort trésorier de la Chancellerie".

History
The Royal Almanac for the years 1814 and 1815 presented to His Majesty by Testu, in Paris, at Testu & C°, rue Hautefeuille n°13, mentions, in the Chancellery of France place Vendôme, Third Office, a "M. Lefort, Payeur des dépenses de la Chancellerie" (p. 84).
