MOUNT GAY XO Peat Smoke - Pot Still - Port Cask Expression OFFERED BY THE HOUSE OF MOUNT GAY In constant search of innovations and new frontiers in its editions, Mount Gay rums have created the Mount Gay XO The Peat Smoke Expression, a very old rum, the first opus of the "Collection Maitre de Chais". Mount Gay XO The Peat Smoke Expression is a blend of rums aged from 8 to 15 years in American oak barrels, then this blend of rums, aged 6 months more in peated whiskey barrels from Islay (Scotland). The result is a complex rum that is perfectly balanced, the banana aromas, the toasted notes of this Mount Gay XO as well as the smoky notes coming from the peated whisky barrels. A very limited edition, for this Mount Gay XO The Peat Smoke Expression rum: only 180 bottles available in France. The Mount Gay XO The Peat Smoke Expression is to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. Until 1900, the distillery elaborated its rums in iron stills, the famous "Pot Stills". Then, at the beginning of the 20th century, it was a small revolution: the brand innovated by favouring copper column stills, the "Coffey Stills". This Mount Gay Pot Still is a return to its origins: to rediscover the flavours that made the reputation of the brand in the 18th and 19th centuries. This limited edition The Port Cask Expression is a blend of rums distilled in column stills and then aged in Tawny Port casks, and rums double distilled in pot stills and then aged in American whiskey casks and finished in Tawny Port casks.
