A great success that has been awarded several Grand Gold Medals and Trophies by the International Spirits Institute, it reminds us that this distillery is one of the oldest in the world by highlighting a multi-century know-how. In constant search of innovations and new frontiers of its editions, Mount Gay rums have created Mount Gay XO The Peat Smoke Expression, a very old rum, the first opus of the "Collection Maitre de Chais". Mount Gay XO The Peat Smoke Expression is a blend of rums aged from 8 to 15 years in American oak barrels, then this blend of rums, aged 6 months more in peated whiskey barrels from Islay (Scotland). The result is a complex rum that is perfectly balanced, the banana aromas, the toasted notes of this Mount Gay XO as well as the smoky notes coming from the peated whisky barrels. A very limited edition, for this Mount Gay XO The Peat Smoke Expression rum: only 180 bottles available in France. The creator of Mount Gay XO, Allen Smith, explains that the XO Cask Strength "was created to symbolise the rich culture and strong personality of Mount Gay and its nation, it is our tribute to the spirit of Barbados, the original birthplace of rum, and the people who make this island so unique. "There will only be 3,000 bottles sold (France, USA, UK, Barbados, Belgium and Australia) with a wooden box and a brochure of the origin of the rum in Barbados. A portion of the sales will be donated to the Barbados Museum and Historical Society to support its efforts to preserve the history and culture of Barbados.
