Saint James Single cask 1998 42,8° , 70cl
OFFERED BY THE HOUSE OF SAINT JAMES
The year 1998 was a year of exceptional harvest in Martinique, and gave birth to excellent vintages. This single cask from Saint James was bottled in 2016, after 17 years of aging. The casks that were used were either small Quercus Alba (American white oak) casks, or second hand casks that had previously contained Saint James. After 10 years, 5 casks were chosen from 28 by Marc Sassier, the Saint James oenologist, and Gilbert Bolinois, the cellar master. The selected rum was thus able to continue its ageing and offer this rare bottling.
