A Dutch engraved 'Hansje in de Kelder' goblet, 18th century, Germany/Netherlands, A small wine glass of simple form on a flat foot with folded rim and inverted baluster stem, the bowl with a wheel engraved scene of a boy in a cellar between wine barrels and the text ‘Vivat Hensel in de Kelder’, a Dutch saying to refer to (or to announce) an unborn child. D 7,3 cm, H 16,3 cm, Excellent condition; no damage and no restoration. Small irregularity to foot edge (manufacturing flaw, see close-up photo).
