Virgin of Calvary in carved, polychromed and gilded resinous wood, rough back. Standing, the Virgin crosses her arms in front of her chest in an imploring attitude; she is dressed with a heavy veil over her face and enveloping her shoulders, one side of which is held against her by the left forearm. South Tyrol, workshop of the Master of Heiligenblut, end of the 15th century Height: 65.4 cm - Width: 20 cm - Depth: 14.5 cm (small missing fingers) Book consulted: E. Zimmermann, Badisches Landesmuseum Karlsruhe, Die Mittelalterlichen Bildwerke, 1985, p 354. The simplicity of the clothes, the morphology of the face, the similarity of the draperies allow us to compare this Virgin of Calvary to the Virgin and Child enthroned in the collections of the Badisches Landesmuseum in Karlsruhe, attributed to the workshop of the Master of Heiligenblut, representative of the late Gothic period in the south of Tyrol and Trentino (inv. No. 57/15)
