BAZILLE (1841-1970) L.A.S on paper monogrammed "F.B" (Wednesday (1866 ) to his mother); 2 pages in-fol,(good condition)
Beautiful letter. Speaks of the sublime paintings of MONET, of the presence of his two friends, with RENOIR, rue Visconti.
"Since my last letter there is something new in the rue Visconti, MONET has fallen from the sky with a collection of magnificent paintings which will have the greatest success at the exhibition. He will sleep at my place. Until the end of the month with RENOIR, here are two painters of rigor that I lodge.
It is a real infirmary. I am delighted, I have enough room and they are both very cheerful." * All the correspondence will be included in the supplement of the augmented catalogue raisonné on bazille-catalogue.com by Mr Michel Schulman.
