Jean-Léon Gérome is using the small statuette of his large plaster Tanagra in the Musée d'Orsay (inv. RF 2514, LUX 52). He modified a few details and in his own opinion considered it "better studied as far as the nude is concerned". This statuette was a great success with the public. The model was produced in several editions, in polychrome marble, polychrome plaster, porcelain and gilded bronze cast by Siot-Decauville
