There are two variations of this model. In the first one, the two girls carry the sphere with three arms as in our group, and with four arms in the second one. A terracotta, very close to ours, was part of Jacques Doucet's collection. Given to Clodion, measuring 71 cm, it was sold at auction in June 1912. The catalogue of the 1992 exhibition at the Louvre Museum indicates the existence of a second example, 57 cm high, sold at the Hôtel Drouot on November 7, 1938 (n°63) and presented "after Clodion".
