The Grands Hommes market, in the heart of Bordeaux's Golden Triangle, is one of the last emblematic creations of Claude-Henri Aubert (1931-2009), architect and urban planner. Author of the Mériadeck skating rink in 1981, the General Treasury in 1988, he is also at the origin of the creation of the protected sector of the city center of Bordeaux.
The new Market of the Great Men was inaugurated in 1991 by Queen Elizabeth II of England and in the presence of Jacques Chaban-Delmas.
The work presented today was painted on this occasion.
