TABRIZ carpet woven in the famous workshop of the master weaver HADJI-JALILI (Persia), circa 1870-80
Dimensions : 188 x 128cm
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
The marine vault, vegetalized, with arabesques, supported by two delicate brick columns, with flowers, overhangs a polychrome symbolic tree of life, surrounded by two small flower vases. A suspended floral lamp completes the decor. The frame is composed of seven borders, the seven steps leading to heaven. The main one, navy with a series of multicolored corollas on vegetal branches, is flanked by two brick counter-borders with garlands of flowers and four smaller ones, ivory, with a series of "S". Exquisite mihrab.
