Fine SENNEH carpet woven on multicolored silk chains (Persia), late 19th century

Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on silk backing.
The anthracite field of this carpet, highlighted with a lace, is covered with a trellis of stylized multicolored flowers called "Herati". A magnificent bright red main border with polychrome cruciform floral medallions, enriched with small animals, is flanked by two anthracite counter-borders with garlands of geometric decorations. Multicolored chains.
