Carpet KARABAGH/ARTSAKH (Caucasus-Armenia) end of 19th century

Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation.
A large floral medallion, polychrome vegetalized, sits in the center of a hexagonal brick field covered with a stylized vegetal trellis. Four old gold spandrels, with "Kotchaks" excrescences and the same decoration, surround the whole. The pastel frame is composed of a main pink brick border with a succession of carnations and birds, flanked by two grey counter borders with garlands of flowers.
