TABRIZ carpet woven in the workshops of the master weaver DJAFFER (Persia), late 19th century. Dimensions : 160 x 130cm Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton background. The dominant pastel tone for this piece, where on a parma mandorla background is placed an ivory medallion, oblong and polylobed, with a turquoise cruciform heart. The whole is covered with flowering stems. The four ivory "draped" spandrels have the same plant decoration. Two brick borders with floral compositions frame the main ivory one with a series of flowery and leafy scrolls. Great poetry.
