Silk TABRIZ carpet (Persia), late 19th century

Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundation.
A chestnut pointed ogive field, with vegetal borders, hosts two stylized columns, supporting an ivory vault with delicate scrolls, where a symbolic lamp is suspended. Flowery reserves at each end. Six pastel borders with flowers frame the main one with polychrome blossoming corollas, set in staggered rows on undulating floral stems. (Wear)
