Rare KACHAN carpet (Persia), late 19th century, woven in the workshops of the master weaver MORTACHEM
Dimensions : 210 x 130cm
Technical characteristics : Kork wool velvet (silky lambswool) on a cotton foundation.
A brick field supports an oblong ivory counter field with braces, hosting itself a floral medallion polylobed navy, brick, sky and ivory and its pendants. The whole is surrounded by four small spandrels and is entirely covered with delicate floral scrolls. The magnificent navy main border with brick accolades is decorated with vases with polychrome flower stems and small stylized cypresses. Three ivory and brick plant borders, flanked by chess pieces complete the frame. Nice example. (Wear, as is)
