SAROUK carpet (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions : 195 x 135cm Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton base. Ivory background with polychrome flower scrolls, enriched with a double polylobed medallion in cherry red and navy blue with stylized multicolored flowers. Four spandrels surround the field of the same motif on a navy blue background. The main border is brick-red with a flower pattern between two counter borders with flowery garlands.
