Famous work by Lazare de Baïf (1496-1547), humanist who was adviser and ambassador to François I and the protector of the young Ronsard at the French court, containing three texts on naval art, costumes, and vase decoration among the ancients. It ends with a treatise on colours by Antonio Telesio, the Libellus de coloribus.
