Our study can be compared to the figure in the lower right corner of the winter illustration "Januar" dated 1901.
Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Art Nouveau movement and the Vienna Secession. He tackled allegorical subjects as well as nudes, landscapes and large-scale settings. He also designed cartoons for tapestries, mosaics, ceramics and numerous illustrations.
