History: Count Olimpio Aguado (Paris, February 3, 1827 - Compiègne, October 25, 1894) was a French primitive photographer, son of Alexandre Aguado, a Spanish banker based in Paris, and brother of Onésipe Aguado, also a photographer. Olympe took photographs of animals, landscapes, portraits and tableaux vivants, scenes from the daily life of his aristocratic social milieu. His works are preserved in the Musée d'Orsay.
He attended the studio of Gustave Le Gray, who introduced him to photography, and was a member of the Société héliographique.
