The Code Louis is the name given to the "ordonnances sur la réformation de la justice civile et criminelle" of 1666 and 1670, in honour of King Louis XIV. It is the standardization of the laws and jurisdictions of the kingdom, of which the South was of "Roman" law and the North of customary law.
